"Honesty In The Church" was the campaign slogan of Pope Sporus VI following the revelations (such as mistresses and children) after his election (Saint Fidgeta and Other Parodies, 56).
Inspiration[]
While seemingly just a made-up slogan, the phrase was also the title of a book by Daniel Callahan published a year prior to Saint Fidgeta, in 1965, that argues the need for reform and freedom of expression in the Church.
