Enrico Caruso made appearances In New Zebedee during the heyday of the New Zebedee Opera House (The Doom of the Haunted Opera; 29, 44).

Background

Enrico Caruso (1873-1921) was a world famous Italian operatic tenor who made his singing debut in Naples in 1894[1]. His first performance in the United States in 1903 was a huge success and set a standard with his unique singing style. His career spanned the years 1895 to 1920 and included a record 863 appearances at the New York Metropolitan Opera. And at least one visit to Michigan - if Al Galway is to be a creditable source. Interestingly enough Caruso was performing in San Francisco when the famous earthquake struck on April 18, 1906. He sang more than 50 roles in Italian and French operas such as Aida and Carmen before his death caused by pleurisy.
